Icons + Bones is an art project by Heidi Bones.

Heidi is an underground artist, fantasist and creator originally from Aotearoa/NZ, now living on Wurundjeri County in Australia.

Heidi creates magical worlds where skeleton pirates search for treasure in ancient rainforests finding themselves meeting golden bejewelled guardians protecting The Madonna. She sits upon opulent altars of devotion decorated with flowers, jewels and candles.

Heidi gathered her visions through years of creating, visiting art galleries around the world, studying all of the major art movements and religions as well as Indigenous Philosophies and diving deep into her Ancestry. Her art is deeply inspired by her travels through the Egyptian pyramids and temples, exploring the Paris catacombs and the cemeteries and altars of Mexico and Colombia.

In another life, she created hauntingly beautiful dreamy music under the moniker Heidi Elva.

Heidi lives a quiet life with her son in an old farming town not far from Melbourne.

Her art process uses future technology, AI, Photoshop, old plaster casting and painting techniques and ritual.
